Arizona’s $20 billion tourism and hospitality industry received some high praise from a regarded travel publication.

Conde Nast Traveler recently released its 2015 Reader’s Choice Awards, in which readers rank the best destinations throughout the world. And when it came to the Southwest’s best resorts and hotels, Arizona dominated the lists.

In ” Top 25 Resorts in Texas and The Southwest: Reader’s Choice Awards 2015,” 17 Arizona resorts placed. The list included resorts throughout the state including the Wigwam in Litchfield Park, the Dove Mountain Ritz Carlton in Marana and the Boulders in Carefree. Sedona’s Mii amo was highest-ranked at No. 3.

In ” Top 12 Hotels in the Southwest: Readers’ Choice Awards 2015,” four Arizona hotels placed. L’Auberge de Sedona topped the list, while Paradise Valley’s Hermosa Inn placed No. 4.


Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association Vice PresidentKristen Jarnagin said the rankings came as no surprise.

“Arizona has long been known as a wold-class resort destination,” said Jarnagin. “We have some of the top-rated resorts in the country, and we offer some of the most hospitable and welcoming staff.”

Conde Nast operates some of the most well-known publications in media, including GQVogueVanity Fair, The New Yorker, and Phoenix Business Journal parent company American City Business Journals.

Arizona’s tourism and hospitality industry employs 200,000 across the state and generates $20 billion in annual spending.
