This week’s freebies are all about making change without spending it. From solid start-up business advice to giving some downtown staples some much needed facelifts, here are our top three picks for free events this week.
If you haven’t checked out The Pressroom since its grand re-opening this past February, now’s your chance. On Tuesday, March 25, at 6 p.m., CO+HOOTS is hosting a Hoot Hour, a free evening of meeting, greeting, and eating for business-minded individuals. At this event, guests will have the chance to tour The Pressroom and listen to representatives from sponsors Artifex10 and Harder Development as they talk about their business’ methods of reusing space. Eye Lounge is getting down to business with a free class, “Business Entities 101.” Hosted by Jennifer Delgado Esq., this free community course will teach aspiring entrepreneurs the basics of building their own business, from the pros and cons of different entity structures to the legal process of creating your own. Zero Precent: Hudson Link at Sing Sing
Enjoy a free screening of the award-winning documentary Zero Percent, presented in part by ASU’s Prison Education Awareness Club (PEAC) on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. inside room 116 of ASU’s Business Administration C Wing. With roughly 60 percent of inmates returning to prisons in the United States, the zero percent of re-incarcerated graduates from the Hudson Link education program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison serves not just as an anomaly, but as a source of inspiration.
